Maryland Hurricanes The 12-under Maryland Hurricanes girls AAU basketball team is seeking corporate and individual sponsors to help fund out-of-town trips this summer to national basketball tournaments. Financial help of any kind is welcome to defray costs of tournament entry fees, equipment, uniforms, lodging, meals and transportation. All funds raised are used only to support the girls. The Maryland Hurricanes is a non-profit organization established in 1989 to promote excellence in basketball for Maryland girls at the state level. The Hurricanes is organized as Chesapeake Bay Basketball Association Inc. Hurricanes teams over the years have won more than 35 Maryland State AAU titles, more than any other AAU organization in the area, and those teams went on to represent the state of Maryland at National AAU championships around the country.
